Draughtsperson

Join a successful and rapidly growing business! We are currently recruiting two Draughtspersons to join our expanding team.

You will be responsible for the production of a range of high quality Engineering Drawings deliverables in accordance with company and industry specific standards and assist with the development and training of junior members of the team.

You will be a team player, willing and able to share technical ability and knowledge with other members of the team whilst also willing to learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Provide Principal Draughtspersons with regular updates relating to timescales/lead times and likely deliverables required
  • Liaise with Design Teams to produce a variety of drawings for the delivery of Overhead Line and Cabling Projects
  • Produce a wide range of CAD Drawings using different software – Microstation 2D/3D CAD and Solid Edge 3D CAD
  • Undertake QA/QC checks across a broad range of engineering CAD deliverables and can self-check own work prior to approval stage
  • Manage Drawing Files within the Document Management system and produce Document transmittals on occasion for document submission

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Engineering – Civil, Electrical Structural – or similar
  • Must hold a UK Driving licence (or one acceptable to our insurers)

Experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant software (including Microstation Connect, SolidEdge, NX or Open Utilities Substation or similar CAD Software (REVIT, Tekla, Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc)
  • Ability to use and process geographic datasets (3D point Cloud or Topographical Survey)
  • Good working knowledge within one of the following engineering disciplines: Civil, RC Detailing, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Working knowledge and experience in applying relevant essential Health and Safety/CDM issues as required by legislation and applicable directives.
