Working with an assistant and using relevant survey techniques and equipment, you will be gathering various survey data including overhead lines and topographical surveying. You will be setting-out engineering and building surveys to fulfil diverse client specifications and although we would prefer you to have experience completing GPR, C.A.T. and Genny surveys, it is not essential.
You’ll have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade 4-9 including English and Maths and 3 years’ minimum relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake various surveys including OHL Surveys to ENATS 43-125, Routing of proposed OHL’s, Access Route surveys, Topographical Surveys to RICS Standards, GPS surveys and Existing Substation Layout Surveys.
- 3D model surveys for Tower Downleads & Substation Entries and 3D models for Tower Geometry and Verticality Verification.
- Risk assessments on existing OHL Poles/Pole mounted equipment.
- Setting out of proposed structures for OHL’s and Substations.
- Ensuring all survey equipment is working correctly to ensure accuracy of data.
- Reporting any Health & Safety concern e.g. tower verticality issues to Clients.
- Responsible for training and instructing the Survey Technician.
- Liaising with landowners as appropriate.
- Downloading raw data into appropriate jobs on the central databases.
- Responsible for ensuring survey equipment is charged and fit for use before going to site.
- Undertake all necessary training Health & Safety Training.
- Completing timesheets accurately on a day-by-day basis.
- Keep a check on company car/van and make sure it is clean, tidy and road worthy.
- Produce accurate plans and drawings to fulfil diverse client specifications.
- Various ad hoc tasks supporting the Survey function.
- Comply with LSTC’s and Clients Health and Safety policies.
- Complete daily Risk assessment documentation.
